Types of Training
Our Training and Technical Assistance (T&TA) efforts help to provide recipients with practical and specialized knowledge related to human trafficking for the purpose of increasing the effectiveness of anti-trafficking efforts in the United States.

This program seeks to:
  • Provide accessible and comprehensive best practices to the anti-trafficking field;
  • Enhance effectiveness of trainings and technical assistance;
  • Improve local, regional, and national coordination and communication;
  • Increase the number of victims identified, the number of traffickers brought to justice, and the number of survivors receiving critical social services.

T&TA topics include:
The National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) can provide training and technical assistance on a range of topics, including but not limited to:

  • Human trafficking criminal networks
  • Overview of the anti-trafficking field in the US
  • Overview of US government efforts to combat trafficking

Types of T&TA provided by the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) include:
  • Phone Consultations
    • The NHTRC provides phone consultations on a variety of topics related to human trafficking and anti-trafficking efforts.   
  • In-Person Briefings
    • The NHTRC is available to set up in-person briefings at our office or on-site at outside locations.
  • Trainings/Presentations
    • The NHTRC is equipped to provide trainings, presentations, and workshops. These engagements vary in length and format. Requests will be filled by Polaris Project and through referrals to outside organizations.
  • Materials Review
    • The NHTRC is available to comment on the development of a variety of anti-trafficking materials.
  • Direct/Intensive Technical Assistance
    • In order to exchange information and resources, share expertise, and analyze trends, the NHTRC engages in peer-to-peer technical assistance activities with a variety of organizations and individuals working to combat human trafficking.
  • Comprehensive Materials Suite on Human Trafficking and Related Topics
    • In addition to developing its own materials, the NHTRC has collected from numerous sources, a diverse range of written materials which address varied topics related to human trafficking and modern-day slavery.  These materials include informational documents, toolkits, fact sheets and training guides.
